One of the stories of Pradosh Vrat is that there was a wife of Brahman who lived in a Small Town. Her husband died of any disease. After her husband departs, she had no support from Back, and she had to beg to feed her and her Child’s Stomach.
Once a Day, when Brahman’s wife was returning to her house, after begging, but while returning she seemed that a boy was moaning from the pain. The Brahman’s wife brought that boy to her House. Actually, the boy was the Prince of Vidarbha, which is a region of Maharastra. His father was kept by the enemy soldiers and his Kingdom was also captured by them. The prince started living with them at their house.
They all 3 were living happily, but one day a Gandharva girl named “Anshumati” saw the prince and fascinated by him. A few days after, She met the prince with her family. They also liked the prince. One night Great Lord Shiva came in the dreams of the family of Anshumati that the Prince and Anshumati be married. The family did the Same.

The Brahman wife’s son was made Prime Minister of that Kingdom by the Prince.
