4th Test: Jaiswal slams fifty, but Bashir takes three as India trail England by 222 runs

Yashasvi Jaiswal leads the charge for India with an unbeaten fifty, but Shoaib Bashir’s triple strike gives England a late boost in the second session on day two of the fourth Test at the JSCA International Stadium. India are 131/4 in 38 overs, trailing by 222 runs at tea.

The session saw India starting confidently at 86/1, but slipping to 130/4 as off-spinner Shoaib Bashir capitalized on spin-friendly conditions to take 3-32. Jaiswal continued his impressive form, reaching his fourth fifty plus score of the series.

Shubman Gill provided good support with a quick 82-run partnership before being dismissed lbw by Bashir. Rajat Patidar’s promising start was cut short when he was trapped lbw by a skidding delivery. Ravindra Jadeja’s aggressive approach was halted by Bashir, who claimed his third wicket with a well-executed top-spinner.

England posted 353 in their first innings, with Joe Root’s unbeaten 122 being the standout performance. India will rely on Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan to steer them out of trouble in the remaining session. It remains to be seen if the Indian batsmen can counter England’s bowling attack in the final session of the day.

The match promises to go down to the wire as both teams look to gain the upper hand. With Jaiswal’s solid presence at the crease and England’s bowlers in good form, the final session of day two is poised to be an exciting encounter. Stay tuned for more updates on this gripping Test match.
