Guru Ravidas Jayanti Holiday in Delhi: CM Kejriwal announces closure of Schools and Government Offices

Coronavirus is becoming uncontrollable in Delhi. The infection is spreading rapidly. The fourth wave of Corona has become extremely dangerous. The Delhi government has appealed to the people to seek the help of the Corona app for information about the availability of beds in the hospital and to visit the hospital only when it is very important. Stay treated at home isolation. If we do not do this, beds will fall for severe patients and the death toll will increase. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that if the support of the people continues and the hospital is under our control, then we will not need to put a lockdown in Delhi but if there is a shortage of beds in hospitals and beds are not available in the hospitals, then somewhere It is not that a lockdown has to be imposed in Delhi. However, the Chief Minister made it clear that he was not in favor of imposing lockdown.

High-speed vaccination to defeat corona

On Sunday, the Chief Minister gave a digital press conference on the growing cases of Corona. He expressed serious concern over the increasing cases. The Chief Minister said that if the corona was spreading, if we had done vaccination faster than that, we could control the corona. He said how contradictory it is that the corona is spreading rapidly despite the introduction of the vaccine. We must vaccinate at a higher rate than that to defeat the corona. He demanded from the central government that all the restrictions regarding vaccination should be lifted because 65 percent of the patients in Delhi are coming under 45 years of age.

The Delhi government is ready to go from house to house to vaccinate everyone within two to three months. He said that this was also said by all the Chief Ministers in the meeting with the PM. Appealing to all political parties, the Chief Minister said that this is not the time to do politics, but to serve Delhiites together.

This fourth wave in Delhi is very dangerous: The Chief Minister said that in the last 10 to 15 days in Delhi, the corona is very fast. It is growing so fast that it is inconceivable to a lot of people. This is the fourth wave in Delhi. Which is very dangerous. In the last 24 hours, there have been more than 10 and a half thousand cases in Delhi.

Delhi government alone cannot stop Corona

The Chief Minister said that the government alone cannot do much, the cooperation of all is needed. He said that right now we are working broadly on how to prevent corona from spreading. People are also wearing masks. Follow physical distance. Only leave home when it is necessary. He said that some people are running only towards private hospitals.
Beds are slightly less in private hospitals. People should not just run towards private hospitals. If you go to government hospitals, you will get good treatment there too. Corona may occur again after applying the vaccine but the risk of corona becoming severe will be reduced. In a hospital, 37 doctors had both vaccine doses.

Over 1 lakh vaccinations a day

Corona vaccination is also gaining momentum in Delhi. On Saturday, for the first time, more than one lakh 1,04,688 vaccinations took place in Delhi. In this, 91099 people took the first dose of the vaccine, while 13763 people took the second dose of the vaccine. So far 20,70,868 people have been vaccinated. This number includes the first and second doses of the vaccine.

Corona will be treated in nursing homes with less than 50 beds capacity
Due to less beds in hospitals, arrangements are being made for treatment of corona even in small nursing homes. The Delhi government’s Directorate General of Health Services has directed that small nursing homes with less than 50 beds capacity can also be treated, but for this the nursing home operators will have to make an application and tell them that they want to start treatment of corona. Apart from this, there should be a separate arrangement for visiting patients suffering from corona and other diseases in the nursing home. It is noteworthy that 50 percent beds have been reserved for treatment of corona in 115 private hospitals with a capacity of more than 50 beds. At the same time, 100 beds have been reserved for Covid patients at the Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Institute.

The Delhi Police Special Cell filed an FIR on Sunday after receiving a written complaint from Home Minister Amit Shah stating that a doctored article featuring him regarding the reservation issue is being circulated on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.

The Delhi police have registered the FIR under sections 153, 153A, 465, 469, 171G, and 66C of the IT Act, and arrests are expected to take place nationwide.

The Ministry of Home Affairs stated in a written complaint that it has discovered doctored videos circulated by Facebook and Twitter users. The complaint also mentioned that a report containing details of links and social media handles, which are the sources of these videos, was attached. The case is being investigated by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) of the Delhi Police Special Cell.

Amit Shah, during a public meeting on April 23 at the Vijaya Sankalp Sabha in Telangana, stated that the BJP will repeal the unconstitutional Muslim reservation when it comes to power in Telangana.

Home Minister Amit Shah said,

“I want to say this: if the BJP forms a government, then this unconstitutional Muslim reservation will be abolished. These rights belong to SC, ST, and OBC, and they will be given to them by abolishing Muslim reservation.”

The BJP alleged that the video was altered to show Shah promising to scrap reservations for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The BJP stated that the original video showed Amit Shah discussing the removal of the four percent “unconstitutional” reservation for Muslims in Telangana.

The BJP’s complaint said,

“Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji did not deliver any word against the reservation for Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backward Classes (OBCs), and tampering of the original speech was done by the social media activists of the Congress party for their political gains and to cause immeasurable damage to the BJP in the forthcoming elections in Andhra Pradesh and throughout India.”

BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya alleged that the Congress is spreading the doctored video, which has the potential to cause widespread violence in the country. Mr. Shah had talked about whether the unconstitutional reservation on the basis of religion would reduce the share of the SCs/STs and OBCs.

Uttarakhand's Uniform Civil Code Bill Decoded

When the framers of the Constitution were drafting it, they left the subject of the Uniform Civil Code or UCC as an aspirational dream that could be fulfilled at a later and more opportune time.

Uttarakhand could become the first state where the Uniform Civil Code will come into force. In 2022, the Uttarakhand State Government started the process and entrusted the job of preparing a draft for the UCC to a team led by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai.

The Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami-led government will place the draft of the Uniform Civil Code Uttarakhand 2024 Bill (UCC) before the state legislative assembly. The bill will be tabled in the forthcoming four-day special assembly session that began on Monday.

The State Cabinet of the CM Pushkar Singh Dhami-led government had already Okayed the final draft of the UCC, and it envisages uniform civil laws for all the communities who reside in the state. If the Bill clears the legislative assembly, it will be sent to the Governor for approval. After the Governor approves the bill, it will then become law. The UCC was a big sticking point in the elections, and the BJP had promised to make it a law in the state.

What is the Uniform Civil Code?

The Uniform Civil Code or the UCC is a set of laws that will govern personal matters like marriage, divorce, adoption, inheritance, and succession for all the citizens of the state irrespective of their religious beliefs. Today different laws govern these personal matters for different communities of different religions. The UCC will replace all such diverse laws, and there will be only one uniform civil law.

The draft is composed of 740 pages and has four volumes.

The final draft was prepared after extensive feedback in written, oral, online from public forums and 43 public outreach programs which included more than 60,000 people. The final bill has been described as a joint and collective effort and included opinions from a diverse section of the public.
