Good news for commuters! Metro rail to soon connect Noida, IGI airport via New Delhi Railway Station
Recently, The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) signed a deal with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) to construct a metro route that will link New Delhi Railway Station and Greater Noida city. The proposed link will be the part of Uttar Pradesh government’s plan aiming to offer last-mile metro connectivity to the Noida International Airport in Jewar.

The proposed plan aims to offer hassle-free connectivity to the public travelling between IGI and Jewar airports. Both are around 75 km apart- stated by Shailendra Bhatia, YEIDA’s officer on special duty.
“There will be two metro rail stretches — one between Noida Airport and Knowledge Park in Greater Noida and the other from Knowledge Park to New Delhi Railway Station — which are to be developed. From New Delhi Railway Station, there is already a connecting link to the Airport Express for Delhi airport,” Bhatia told PTI.
As per the Press Release by the officials, DMRC officials stated that YEIDA that the proposed route between the Indira Gandhi International Airport and Noida International Airport in Jewar was through New Delhi Railway Station.
Additionally, at the Noida International Airport, a check-in facility will be provided to the commuters at all the stations at the airport line. If everything goes according to the plan, it will take around 1 hour between the two airports.
As per the plan, the route will have 11 stations and it will be built between New Delhi Railway Station and Knowledge Park in Greater Noida, it is spread over 37km. Out of which 34km will be elevated while the rest 3km will be underground. Construction for the Noida International Airport in the Jewar is in the pipeline in the area of Gautam Buddh Nagar district of the Uttar Pradesh state.
