Viral screenshot falsely implicating Stephen Hawking with Epstein debunked

A screenshot is circulating on social media among netizens, featuring a picture of a question-and-answer session from a court transcript. According to the transcript, Stephen Hawking, the cosmologist and theoretical physicist, used to frequently visit controversial Epstein’s Island. The respondent stated that Epstein had disclosed to the interviewer information about Hawking’s proclivities

The caption of a post on Instagram reads, ”Stephen Hawking enjoyed watching ‘undressed midgets solve complex equations’ on a chalkboard that was set too high, according to the document.”

The Findings on Stephen Hawking

A post on X, formerly Twitter, appears to be the source of the photo that has gone viral. On January 4, 2024, a user on X with the userID @drefanzor posted another message to draw people’s attention and clarify that the photo is not real; instead, it’s a meme.

It is assumed that information regarding Hawking’s proclivities is not present in the court documents that have been released. Furthermore, no additional credible evidence could be located to support the claim.

The Epstein list released by the court on January 3, 2024, exhibited a repeated mention of Stephen Hawking’s name twice. However, it is important to note that these documents originated from the lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell in 2015.

Furthermore, an email from 2015 between Maxwell and Epstein was recorded in the document on page 391. As per the participant’s recording, “Hawking took part in an underage orgy.” The email mentions about Stephen Hawking being involved in sex with an underage girl, in 2006.

“You can issue a reward to any of Virginia’s friends, acquaints, family that come forward and help prove her allegations are false. The strongest is the Clinton dinner, and the new version in the Virgin Islands that Stephen Hawking participated in an underage orgy,” read the email, as per the Irish News.

However, another revelation from the documents debunking the claims states that the late scientist was just was a guest at a conference on the island, sponsored by Epstein.

The verdict

It has been confirmed that the extracted and circulating documents on social media are fake. Moreover, it is not associated with the genuine Epstein List. Furthermore, the image was posted as a meme initially. Thus, the claims circulating about Stephan Hawking are ‘FAKE’.
