An air quality board in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra, suddenly displayed a sexually explicit video, causing significant disturbance in the public space. According to news reports, a police investigation is underway at the Thane police station. The incident is a matter of concern as someone gained unauthorized access to a computer and security system within a public digital infrastructure.
Obscene Video on Ulhasnagar Air Quality Board
On January 25, local residents observed inappropriate content on the weather display board in Ulhasnagar, Maharashtra. The Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation had also noticed explicit images and videos two days prior, on January 23. A complaint was subsequently filed at the Central police station in Ulhasnagar, leading to an investigation to uncover the truth.
It has been alleged that an individual accessed the LED display board computer system and intentionally publicized explicit content.
As reported by Free Press Journal, Police have registered a case under Sections 67A (pertaining to the transmission of sexually explicit material in electronic form) and 66 (related to computer offenses) of the Information Technology Act.
Meanwhile, police have contacted the private company responsible for the technical maintenance of the display board.
Authorities are working to understand how the technical security of the display board could be breached by an ordinary person. Police officials are also exploring other options to fully comprehend the vulnerabilities related to the security breach.
It’s worth noting that this is not the first time an explicit video has been showcased on a public display board. Last year, when a p*rn video was displayed at a Patna Railway Station, it gained nationwide attention and controversy.
