Death toll in Gaza climbs to 30,320, reports Palestinian Health ministry

In a recent update from Gaza, the Hamas-run Health Ministry reported that a total of 30,320 Palestinians have been killed in Israel’s military offensive in the Gaza Strip. The past 24 hours alone saw the death of 92 Palestinians and 156 others wounded, bringing the total number of injuries to 71,533 since the conflict began on October 7, 2023.

Among the casualties, 15 individuals lost their lives in Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah due to an Israeli airstrike, while two others were killed in Jabalia. Additionally, ten people were killed in Israeli air raids on various neighborhoods in Gaza City, with more lives lost in other areas such as Beit Hanoun and Rafah.

Eyewitnesses in Beit Hanoun reported that a group of people picking herbs were targeted in an Israeli artillery shelling, resulting in three deaths and seven injuries. In Rafah, an Israeli drone strike on a civilian vehicle in Al-Shaboura neighborhood left two people dead and one wounded, who were then taken to Kuwaiti Hospital for treatment.

The Israeli offensive is in retaliation for a Hamas rampage through the southern Israeli border that occurred on October 7, 2023, resulting in a significant number of casualties and hostages. The ongoing violence has escalated tensions in the region, leading to a high number of casualties on both sides.

As the conflict continues to unfold, the international community remains deeply concerned about the escalating violence and loss of life in Gaza. Efforts are being made to negotiate a ceasefire and bring an end to the bloodshed that has claimed the lives of thousands of Palestinians.
