A16 Crowland Accident Details: One Died, Three Kids Hospitalised

On March 3, 2024, a brutal accident occurred at A16 Crowland which left three kids injured and claimed the life of a woman. Metro reported that the accident was a result of five vehicles collision which included a fire truck from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Services as well.

The deceased woman was driving a Peugeot 308.

BBC reported that the injured kids were transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The fire truck was going to offer help to a road traffic emergency when it met with the accident.

Spencer Creek, the response manager of Lincolnshire fire and rescue stated,

“At around 12.40 on 3 March, while travelling to provide support at a road traffic emergency, one of our fire appliances and crews were involved in a collision. The incident resulted in a driver of another vehicle tragically losing their life. Our thoughts and condolences are with those that have been affected by this incident. A police investigation is taking place.”

After the accident, authorities closed the road and later re-opened it in the evening.

The deceased has been identified as 79-year-old Eleanor Joy Williamson. Further information regarding the children involved has not been disclosed.

Authorities have managed to get in touch with the members of the family of the deceased.

There is currently no further information available on the children’s health.

A16 Crowland Crash Details

The news of the A16 Crowland crash escalated all over the internet. The accident involved five vehicles: a red Scania Fire Engine, a grey Volkswagen Transporter, a black Mercedes, a silver Kia Sportage, and a Peugeot 308, reported The Sun. The accident occurred at around 12:40 p.m.

Residents were informed to not use the road for travel purposes until the investigation ends.

According to the Lincolnshire police, four vehicles (except the Volkswagen) were going south and the Volkswagen was going north.

Authorities further stated,

As per reports by Lincs Online, an air ambulance took the three injured kids to Peterborough City Hospital around 1:20 p.m.
