Nepal road accident leaves seven dead and 30 injured

Seven people were killed and 30 others injured in a tragic accident in Nepal’s Dhading district when a passenger bus plunged into Trishuli river. The incident occurred as the bus en route to Kathmandu veered off a highway and fell into the water body.

According to The Kathmandu Post, the rescue team has recovered five bodies, while two individuals succumbed to their injuries while being rushed to treatment. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and directed authorities to ensure effective rescue operations and health treatment for the injured.

Bus driver Hariram Harijan has been taken into police custody for investigation. The common causes of accidents in Nepal include difficult terrains, poor road conditions, vehicle issues, and overloading. The authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident.

The government has promised measures to prevent such accidents in the future, including improvements to road infrastructure and strict enforcement of safety regulations. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims during this difficult time.
