The Congress party has announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The list includes 36 nominees from nine states, with Rahul Gandhi set to contest from Kerala’s Wayanad. Other notable names include Bhupesh Baghel from Chhattisgarh and Shashi Tharoor from Kerala.

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will once again contest from Kerala’s Wayanad in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party has also named candidates from states like Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Sikkim, Telangana, and Tripura.

The candidates were finalized after a meeting of the party’s Central Election Authority held in New Delhi on Thursday evening. The Congress has decided to put on hold the announcement of candidates for three seats in Karnataka and Telangana.

The Congress has strategically chosen candidates for various constituencies across the states. The move is expected to strengthen the party’s position and boost its chances in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. The final list of candidates is expected to be announced soon.
