Hezbollah chief confident Hamas will withstand Israel’s planned raids in Rafah

Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah asserted that Israel will not be able to eliminate Hamas even if it enters Rafah, showing solidarity with the Gaza-ruling Palestinian faction. Nasrallah stated that Israel has failed to achieve its goals in the conflict and is now negotiating with Hamas through mediation. The tensions between Lebanon and Israel escalated on October 8, 2023, following an attack on Israel by Hezbollah in support of Hamas.

Nasrallah stated, “You have failed to achieve any of the war’s targets; even the Rafah operation will not offer you an image of victory. You will not be able to get rid of Hamas or the resistance.” He emphasized that Hamas is negotiating on behalf of all Palestinian factions, aiming to halt Israeli aggression against Gaza. The ongoing conflict has led to negotiations between Israel and Hamas to bring about a ceasefire.

The Lebanon-Israel border has been tense since October 8, 2023, after Hezbollah fired rockets toward Israel in support of Hamas. In response, Israel retaliated by firing heavy artillery toward Lebanon, escalating the conflict. Nasrallah’s remarks come amidst heightened tensions and ongoing negotiations between Israel and Hamas to reach a resolution. The situation remains volatile, with uncertainties regarding the outcome of the conflict and the efforts to achieve peace in the region.
