Putin retaliates against US criticism of Russian election process

In a press conference held in Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the US for their handling of the presidential election, accusing them of using administrative resources to suppress candidates. Putin’s comments came as he secured over 87% of the vote in Russia’s presidential election.

Speaking to reporters, Putin mentioned, “The whole world is laughing at what is happening” in the US, highlighting the chaos surrounding the American election process. He also noted that Russia is showing more restraint compared to other countries’ actions towards their opponents.

Putin’s remarks come at a time when tensions between the US and Russia are already high, with the US recently imposing sanctions on Russia for their alleged interference in the 2020 US presidential election. The Russian leader’s criticism sheds light on the growing discord between the two nations over their respective democratic processes.
