Two Chinese individuals detained in Uttar Pradesh for unlawfully crossing into India from Nepal

Two Chinese nationals, a man and a woman, were arrested at Siddharthnagar’s Kakrahwa post on the Indo-Nepal border for illegally entering Uttar Pradesh. The man, Zhou Pulin, 27, and the woman, Yuan Yuhan, 22, claimed to have reached Nepal and were on their way to India when intercepted by the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on Tuesday.

Superintendent of Police, Prachi Singh, stated that the SSB team initially questioned the duo in Hindi, then in English when they couldn’t respond. The SSB then contacted the police and district administration. The two were found with Chinese passports and Nepal visas.

The Chinese embassy was alerted about the incident, and interpreters were called in for assistance. The intelligence agencies were also informed about the case. The two failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for their illegal entry into Indian territory and have been booked under the Passport Act.

In addition to the legal charges, police also recovered cash in various currencies from the possession of the two Chinese nationals. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working with relevant agencies to gather more information on the incident.
