Congress alleges Pinarayi Vijayan attacking Rahul Gandhi to appease PM Modi

In a scathing attack, Kerala Congress’ leader of opposition, V.D. Satheesan accused Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan of targeting Rahul Gandhi and the Congress to please PM Modi and the BJP. Satheesan alleged that Vijayan is silent on Modi and BJP to gain their favor. He also criticized Vijayan’s governance pointing out alleged corruption.

Satheesan highlighted the failure of the K-Fon project launched by Vijayan which promised free internet to households and government offices. He claimed that the project, costing over Rs 1,500 crore, benefited the Chief Minister’s relatives who received the contract. Satheesan called for a CBI probe into the alleged scam. He also mentioned the Karuvannur Cooperative Bank scam involving CPI-M leaders and suggested Vijayan’s support for the BJP candidate in Thrissur was to gain favors from PM Modi.

M.M. Hassan, Acting President of Kerala Congress, criticized Vijayan for not speaking out against PM Modi, unlike other CPI-M leaders in different states who are working with the Congress to challenge the BJP. As the Lok Sabha polls near, the Congress vows to prevent the BJP from opening its account in Kerala. Accusations of corruption and political maneuvering are intensifying as the political landscape heats up in Kerala.
