Islamabad, April 15 (IANS) – A high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia is set to arrive in Islamabad on Monday to materialize agreements made between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman. The visit comes as Pakistan moves towards privatization of assets including Islamabad International Airport and PIA.
The Saudi delegation, led by Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, will include important government officials and members of the business community. The objective of the visit is to implement agreements made during a recent meeting in Makkah between PM Shehbaz Sharif and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman.
Meetings are scheduled with key figures from various ministries of Pakistan, as well as with President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir. The visit is part of a commitment to expedite Saudi investment in Pakistan, which includes a $5 billion investment in the first phase.
The delegation will explore business opportunities in sectors such as agriculture, energy, and privatization. The investments are expected to boost Islamabad’s economy and growth, with a focus on projects like Gwadar and Reko Diq. The visit highlights the importance of Saudi investment in Pakistan’s development and economic stability.
