Revanth Reddy, Telangana CM, pledges to waive farm loans before August 15th

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced the waiver of farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh by August 15. Addressing a Congress meeting, he assured farmers of the loan waiver and a bonus of Rs 500 per quintal of paddy. He also promised local body elections within two months after the Lok Sabha polls.

Revanth Reddy accused the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) of having a secret agreement with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to ensure BJP’s victory on five out of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana. He alleged that BRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao has mortgaged his party to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to secure bail for his daughter. The Chief Minister also promised representation to the Mudiraj community in the state Cabinet if Congress wins 15 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

He criticized KCR for not giving a ticket to the Mudiraj community, which makes up 10% of the state’s population, despite a pending case in the Supreme Court to reclassify the community as BC-A instead of BC-D. The Chief Minister emphasized that the state government neglected the issue for a decade. The government schemes will now be implemented through ‘Indiramma’ committees, giving them the power to select beneficiaries for the schemes.
