Jason Holder joins Worcestershire for initial five County Championship matches

West Indies star cricketer Jason Holder has signed up with Worcestershire for the first five matches of the upcoming County Championship season. The former No.1 all-rounder will be available from Worcestershire’s opening fixture against Warwickshire at Edgbaston on April 5.

Holder, 32, is a Wisden Cricketer of the Year (2021) and is set to feature in home and away fixtures during his stint with Worcestershire. He aims to make a mark in Division One and help the team establish a strong start in the championship.

The seasoned all-rounder, who has captained West Indies in over 100 matches across formats, is looking forward to his time with Worcestershire. Holder is known for his impactful performances both in Test cricket and white-ball formats, making him a valuable addition to the roster.

Worcestershire’s CEO, Ashley Giles, expressed delight over Holder’s signing, emphasizing the importance of starting the season well in the challenging Division One. With Holder’s experience and quality, the team is optimistic about their prospects in the upcoming County Championship season.
