KL Rahul Set to Arrive in Lucknow After Wednesday’s Practice Game, Confirms LSG Head Coach Justin Langer for IPL 2024

KL Rahul set to join Lucknow Super Giants after flight delay post-practice game on Wednesday. Head coach Langer highlights the importance of performing well for LSG to secure a spot in India’s Men’s T20 World Cup squad. Rahul’s quad injury recovery has sparked discussions on his role in the team.

Langer mentioned, “In terms of KL, he was supposed to be here… He will probably arrive after the start of day’s play… hopefully he’s ready to go, and it would be nice to have the captain with us.”

The focus for players like Rahul is to excel for LSG, which will increase their chances of making it to the Men’s T20 World Cup squad. The team is facing challenges in the fast-bowling department, with lack of experience post Mark Wood’s withdrawal and injuries to other pacers.

Langer expressed, “It is a very good observation that we lack some experience in pace department… The pacers had some injuries over time, but they all look fit, healthy and very hungry. Naveen (ul Haq) has played a lot of T20 cricket, Mohsin (Khan) has played a lot of cricket, so its all looking pretty good.”

Despite concerns about the pace attack, LSG remains optimistic about their prospects in IPL 2024. Newcomer Shamar Joseph, replacing Mark Wood, is seen as a promising talent by Langer, who believes Joseph has the potential to shine in the tournament.

Langer also acknowledged the challenge of balancing the talent in the top-order, with a mix of right and left-handed batters. The team is working to strategize and utilize their talented squad effectively to ensure a competitive edge in the league.
