Ministry: Palestinian death toll from Israeli attacks on Gaza approaches 32,000

In Gaza, March 22 (IANS) The death toll from ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has risen to 31,988, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza. The latest casualties include 65 Palestinians killed and 92 wounded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 31,988 and injuries to 74,188 since the conflict began on October 7, 2023.

The Israeli army has been conducting operations in the Shifa hospital in Gaza city for the fourth day, resulting in the apprehension of 600 Palestinians and the death of over 140 others, all of whom the Israeli army claims are militants. During these operations, “several weapons and intelligence documents” were discovered, as per the Israeli army statement.

In response to a Hamas incursion into southern Israeli territory on October 7, 2023, where approximately 1,200 people were killed and more than 200 were taken hostage, Israel has launched a large-scale offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The ongoing violence has escalated tensions between the two sides, leading to a high number of casualties.

The situation in Gaza remains critical as the death toll continues to rise, with both sides engaged in a deadly conflict that shows no signs of abating. International concerns are mounting as civilian casualties increase, further underscoring the urgent need for a diplomatic resolution to end the bloodshed and restore peace in the region.
