NCP(SP) challenges Ajit Pawar: Surrender ‘Clock’ symbol to prove your integrity

The NCP(SP) has challenged Ajit Pawar to give up the ‘Clock’ symbol following the Supreme Court’s directives. Mahesh Tapase from NCP(SP) accused Ajit Pawar of colluding with BJP and urged him to contest elections on a new symbol.

The NCP founded by Sharad Pawar split in July 2023, leading to a dispute over party name and symbol. The EC recognized Ajit Pawar faction as the ‘real NCP’ with the ‘Clock’ symbol, but NCP(SP) has been allotted the ‘Trumpeter’ symbol temporarily.

The Supreme Court has ordered Ajit Pawar faction to make a public declaration about the ongoing legal battle regarding the ‘Clock’ symbol. Mahesh Tapase highlighted the significance of the court’s observations in preventing political defections with BJP’s support.

NCP(SP) is firm on contesting elections with the ‘Trumpeter’ symbol while NCP continues with the ‘Clock’ symbol campaigning. The battle over party symbol and name continues amidst the upcoming Lok Sabha elections as both factions gear up for the electoral race.
