New Fellowship Portal to Save Time and Energy for Students and Startups, Says Union Minister

New Delhi, March 12 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, Jitendra Singh, launched the ‘Common Fellowship Portal’ on Tuesday. The portal aims to simplify the application process for aspiring students and startups, saving time and energy for the applicants.

The ‘Common Fellowship Portal’ serves as a single interface between applicants and various fellowship schemes by the Department of Biotechnology under the Ministry of Science and Technology. Minister Singh highlighted that the portal aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ease of Doing Science’ for the scientific minds of Viksit Bharat.

Emphasizing on providing equal opportunities to students and scholars across India, Prime Minister Modi’s vision is reflected in this initiative. With the portal, applicants can create a profile and use the same information to easily fill out multiple applications, streamlining the process from submission to selection.

The portal features an Eligibility Calculator, allowing applicants to check their eligibility for different fellowship schemes by providing specific details. This centralised portal for all research applications is in line with Prime Minister Modi’s whole of government approach, making it easier for applicants to access information and submit applications with just a click of a mouse.
