Priyanka Chopra Turns Up In A Black Saree To Co-Host The Pre-Oscars Events



On Thursday, Priyanka Chopra hosted a pre-Oscar dinner celebrating South Asian talent. Mindy Kaling, Kumail Nanjiani, Anjula Acharia, Bela Bajaria, Maneesh K Goyal, and Shruti Ganguly co-hosted the occasion, and Priyanka appeared lovely in a black saree. Riz Ahmed, whose movie ‘Flee’ has been named best Documentary, International Feature, and Animated Feature, was among those recognized.

‘The Long Goodbye’, his short film, was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Live Action Short. ‘Summer of Soul’, a docudrama by Joseph Patel, has also been recognized. The Indian documentary Writing With Fire awarded a nomination for Rintu Thomas, Sushmit Ghosh, and Anurima Bhargava. Suroosh Alvi (‘Flee’), Pawo Choyning Dorji (‘Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom’), Aneil Karia (‘The Long Goodbye’), Elizabeth Mirzaei, and Gulistan Mirzaei are among the South Asians who have gotten Oscar nominations this year (‘Three Songs for Benazir’).

The event was funded by UTA, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Johnnie Walker, the India Center’s South Asian Arts Resiliency Fund, and the Juggernaut.

In terms of career, Priyanka Chopra’s next venture, ‘Citadel’, is a multi-series that will feature Richard Madden and be helmed by the Russo Brothers and will feature productions from India, Italy, and Mexico. ‘Citadel’ is Priyanka Chopra’s second Amazon Prime Video initiative, following the announcement of the Sangeet Project, a sangeet-themed dancing reality show that she will host alongside Nick Jonas.

Priyanka Chopra starred in Netflix’s ‘The White Tiger’ last year, which was based on Aravind Adiga’s Booker Prize-winning novella. ‘Matrix 4’ was the last time she has been seen.
