Sectors off Noida e-way to get power substations by 2024

Noida– With the increasing population, the development of newer sectors in Noida is underway. Some will be made along the Noida Expressway. To meet the power demand in the future, 10-12 new substations of 33/11 kV capacity are in plans. These new stations will be built near the expressway in the next 1-1.5 years. For 5 substations, including Sector- 155,151,162,156 and 164 the tender will soon be circulated by the concerned authority. 15th June is the deadline for the application. The project has been worth Rs 10-12 crores. Some will be made in older sectors including Sector-78,122 and 75. Once everything is in place, the new substation will take the load off the older sector and will be able to improve the electricity supply shortly.

Application for tender is till 15th June. After, soon bid will be announced. If selected, the firm will be given a period of 1 year to construct the substations. We expect the work to start this year, in a couple of months, and the substations are expected to be ready by 2024,” Rajesh Kumar deputy general manager (Electrical and Maintenance), Noida Authority, stated in the official statement. Every substation will cater specific area of the city along with the neighbouring villages on the Expressway. “We will construct these substations and hand them over to the PVVNL’s Noida power department. The final call on their area of operation or bifurcation will be taken by them,” Kumar further added. This will improve the electricity supply in the near future.
Additionally, the tender for the remaining substation will soon be circulated. As per the officials, since the establishment of Noida City, the main focus has always been on new sectors instead of other facilities.
