Shashthi Vrat Importance
According to the Hindu calendar, the sixth day is called Shashthi. Shashti falls in both Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. Shashti comes twice a month. Shashti has its own special significance in Hinduism. The famous festivals falling on Shashthi Tithi are Durga Puja, Sitalasthi, Skanda Sashti or Subramanya Shashthi and Chhath Puja. Lord Shiva’s son Kartikeya is worshiped on the day of Shashthi. The sixth day of each lunar phase (Krishna Paksha and Shukla Paksha) is called Shashthi. The Shashthi that comes after the full moon (full moon) is called Krishna Paksha Shashthi and after Amavasya, Shashti is called Shukla Paksha Shashthi. The lord of Shashthi Tithi is believed to be of Skanda Kumar, the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Who is also known as Kartikeya. Worshiping Shiva in the Shukla Paksha of this date is considered favorable, along with this, Shiva should not be worshiped on the sixth day of Krishna Paksha. It comes 25 times in a year.
