WATCH: 2016 surveillance video reveals chilling details of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs physically assaulting Cassie Ventura
A 2016 surveillance video which was obtained by CNN showed Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his girlfriend Cassie Ventura during an altercation. In November 2023, Ventura had filed a lawsuit alleging physical assault which was later settled. The video shows Combs grabbing, shoving, dragging, and kicking his then-girlfriend.
The video which was compiled from different camera angles is dated March 5, 2016.
The incident happened at the now closed InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

The video shows Ventura exiting a hotel room and walking towards the elevators when Combs enters the scene wearing a towel around his waist and pursues Ventura.
He grabs Ventura by the back of her neck and throws her to the floor. Combs later starts kicking Ventura holding the towel with one hand.
With Ventura on the floor, Combs proceeds to retrieve a purse and suitcase from the floor near the elevators. He again turns around and kicks a motionless Ventura who is lying on the floor.
Later Combs briefly drags Ventura by her sweatshirt toward a room before walking away.
Ventura is later seen slowly getting up and regaining her composure.
Cassie Ventura collects her things which were scattered on the floor near the elevators. Combs, still in a towel, returns and again starts to shove Ventura.
A few seconds later Combs settles on a chair and throws an object on the table towards Ventura.
Later it seems Combs walking away when he again turns towards Ventura when an elevator door opens and someone appears to exit.
Lawsuit Filed But Settled
The incident later led to a lawsuit filed by Ventura against Combs alleging physical assault. Ultimately, the two parties reached a settlement with Combs paying Ventura an undisclosed settlement amount.
Cassie Ventura has not commented on the alleged video obtained by CNN.
Ventura’s attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, said:
“The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Cassie Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light.”
Lately, Comb shared a video on Instagram apologizing for his actions, saying, “My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video.”
“I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to be a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.” he added.
Combs is facing a slew of civil lawsuits accusing him of a range of sexual misconduct and other illegal activity. He has denied the allegations, and the cases remain active.
His homes in California and Florida were searched by the Department of Homeland Security team that handles human trafficking crimes in March as part of a federal investigation.
