WPL: Gujarat Giants looking to put best foot forward in season 2

The second season of Women’s Premier League (WPL) kicked off with Gujarat Giants set to face Mumbai Indians on Sunday. Captained by Beth Mooney, the team is eager to perform well this season with coach Michael Klinger, mentor Mithali Raj, and vice-captain Sneh Rana leading the team.

Mooney expressed confidence in the team’s preparation, stating, “There’s a keen sense of anticipation for the first game.” Rana also shared positive sentiments about the team, highlighting the support from Gujarat Giants and the good team spirit.

WPL has shifted venues from Mumbai to Bengaluru and New Delhi this season. Players like Mooney have welcomed this change, stating, “It is good that WPL is happening in different cities as we have fans across the country.” Mentor Mithali Raj also supported the move, recognizing its potential to attract new audiences.

Raj emphasized the importance of her role as a mentor in the Gujarat Giants team, stating, “I have been enjoying this role, working with young players, sharing my knowledge, and helping them perform their best.” The team is geared up for a successful season, eager to showcase their talent in the tournament.
