Born on 10th November 1967 in the Kasindra city of Ahmedabad district, Gujarat. Ashutosh Rana spent most of his childhood in Gadarwara. He did his schooling there.
During his teenage years, he used to play the role of Ravana in his local Ramleela.
Many don’t know that he is a cousin of Rameshwar Neekhra, the 2 times MP of Narmadapuram (Lok Sabha constituency) as well as the state vice president of the Indian National Congress.
He also studied at the National School of Drama, New Delhi to study acting and has done many plays with Satyadev Dubey in Prithvi Theatre.
According to his interviews, Ashutosh Rana wanted to be a lawyer and completed his law degree but later decided to shift to acting.

He is married to Renuka Shahane, a well-established famous Indian actress.
The couple recently celebrated 22 years of togetherness. They are blessed with two sons named Satyendra and Shauryaman.
