Jordanian king warns of Gaza conflict expansion during Ramadan

King Abdullah II of Jordan has expressed concerns over the ongoing conflict in Gaza during the holy month of Ramadan, warning that it could escalate further. In a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Amman, the king called for immediate efforts to secure a ceasefire and protect innocent civilians.

During the meeting, which took place on Sunday, King Abdullah emphasized the importance of reaching a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. He also reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to providing humanitarian, relief, and medical assistance to the people in Gaza.

Furthermore, the king reiterated Jordan’s stance against any attempts to divide the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. He called for continued Arab coordination to address the Palestinian issue through a just and sustainable solution based on the two-state concept.

President Abbas, in response, appreciated Jordan’s unwavering support in the Hamas-Israel conflict. He emphasized the need for ongoing coordination between the two sides to advance the Palestinian cause and safeguard holy sites in the city.

As tensions continue to rise in Gaza, King Abdullah’s warnings highlight the urgent need for action to prevent further escalation of the conflict. With the holy month of Ramadan approaching, efforts to secure a ceasefire and protect innocent lives are more crucial than ever.
