New Delhi, March 4 (IANS) External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar emphasized the growing strategic partnership between India and France during a meeting with France Secretary General Anne-Marie Descotes in Delhi.
The two leaders discussed enhancing bilateral ties through Foreign Office Consultations and Strategic Space Dialogue, aiming to strengthen collaboration across various sectors such as education, trade, and defence.
Established in 1998, the India-France strategic partnership has seen significant progress, with French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent visit marking discussions on a defence industrial roadmap focusing on areas like robotics, artificial intelligence, and cyber defence.
An MoU between New Space India Ltd and France’s Arianespace was also signed to boost cooperation in satellite launches and space exploration initiatives, with plans to designate 2026 as the “India France Year of Innovation”.
The visit commemorated the 25th anniversary of the India-France strategic partnership, highlighting strong civil nuclear ties and ongoing discussions for the Jaitapur nuclear plant project, further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
