India’s Voltech Group aiming for expansion in the nuclear industry

Sochi (Russia), March 25 (IANS) – The Rs 1,000 crore Voltech Group is eyeing a major expansion into the nuclear field. Managing Director M.Umapathi revealed that the group is already involved in testing and commissioning of nuclear power plants, especially in Kudankulam, Tamil Nadu. Umapathi is currently attending the ATOMEXPO 2024 in Sochi, Russia.

With a presence in 40 countries and 3,500 engineers, Voltech Group is set to offer its services to nuclear power plants in multiple countries. Umapathi highlighted the group’s unique selling proposition of having a large number of engineers specializing in one field. The group has also made inroads into the US market for testing and commissioning of electrical systems.

During the ATOMEXPO 2024, Voltech Group will engage in discussions with Rosatom officials to provide services for their upcoming projects. The group is poised to launch three new electrical products as part of their expansion plans. Umapathi emphasized the group’s expertise in testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems in power and other plants.

This move signals Voltech Group’s strategic diversification into the nuclear field, expanding beyond its current operations in testing and commissioning of power plants. With a strong presence in India and abroad, the group is poised to make significant contributions to the global nuclear power sector.
