International Anti-Corruption Day 2023: Current Theme, Quotes, Images, Messages, Posters, Banners, Cliparts and Captions to create awareness
The International Anti-Corruption Day is celebrated on December 9 every year. This year i.e. 2023 it will be observed on Saturday. The day is observed to encourage people to lift each other and stop corruption in society. To make the society corruption-free we must unite together and discourage those who still follow such practices.
Our country’s laws ensure everyone that we have access to everything we need to survive. Every person in society has equal rights but in some cases, corruption is used as a silent poison to damage the country’s system and make power only reside to the elite class. That makes them more powerful and capable than the rest of the public.
Corruption damages the core of the society. It allows only a handful of people to have power and makes them immune to crimes. Corruption comes in many forms and damages the core of any country.
International Anti-Corruption Day 2023 Theme
This year’s theme will be “UNCAC at 20: Uniting the World Against Corruption,”
Back in 2003, the United Nations passed the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) to fight corruption around the world. The treaty was signed by the UN member states coming together to fight corruption and implement proper laws. In 2003, the treaty was signed on 9 December but was implemented on 14 December.
The United States official website states- “The 2023 International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) seeks to highlight the crucial link between anti-corruption and peace, security, and development. At its core is the notion that tackling this crime is the right and responsibility of everyone, and that only through cooperation and the involvement of every person and institution can we overcome the negative impact of this crime. States, government officials, civil servants, law enforcement officers, media representatives, the private sector, civil society, academia, the public and youth, alike, all have a role to play in uniting the world against corruption,”
