ISRO: If Unfavourable Factors Prevail, Chandrayaan 3 To Be Shifted to 27 August

Space Applications Centre of ISRO announced on Monday that, if the required factors for the lander module of Chandrayaan 3 seem unfavourable, then the date of landing will be shifted to 27 August. The director of ISRO’s Space Applications Centre at Ahmedabad, Nilesh M Desai stated that further decisions depend upon the conditions on the Moon and the health of the lander module.

Nilesh M Desai stated, “On August 23, two hours before Chandrayaan-3 lands on the Moon, we will decide on whether or not it will be appropriate to land it at that time based on the health of the lander module and the conditions on the Moon.

In case, if any factor appears to be not favourable, then we will land the module on the Moon on August 27. No problem should occur and we will be able to land the module on August 23.”

Heath Status Of Chandrayaan 3

S Somanath, ISRO Chief, and Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of Atomic Energy and Space and Science and Technology, met in New Delhi to discuss the status of the landing of Chandrayaan 3 on 23 August.

S Somnath briefed that until now everything is working perfectly fine and no harsh contingencies are forecasted. Thus, currently, the health status of Chandrayaan-3 is perfect. Moreover, incessant monitoring of the health of Chandrayaan-3 will be done for the next two days.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh in the meeting stated that the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon will create a new history of India as well as ISRO in the world of planetary exploration. This will be a fruitful mission under Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister.

As per ISRO, Chandrayaan-3 will land at around 18:04 hours IST on 23 August 2023 on the moon. Interested individuals can also watch live on Aug 23, 2023, on DD National TV, Facebook, YouTube channel, and ISRO website, from 17:27 IST.
