Jordan foils drug smuggling attempt, 5 killed
A military source at the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) has reported that the JAF successfully thwarted an attempt to infiltrate and smuggle large quantities of narcotics from Syrian territories into Jordan. The operation, carried out in collaboration with the Anti-Narcotics Department, resulted in the killing of 5 smugglers and the injury of 4 others. Additionally, a significant amount of narcotics was seized and handed over to the relevant authorities.
The JAF is committed to using all available resources to firmly deal with anyone who poses a threat to Jordan’s national security. In an effort to combat drug trafficking, Jordan has announced the formation of a joint “communication cell” with Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon. The purpose of this group is to track information and monitor shipments to their final destination in order to prevent drug trafficking.
In recent months, Jordan has faced armed clashes with drug smugglers attempting to bring drugs and weapons into the Kingdom. The JAF’s successful operation is a testament to their dedication to maintaining the country’s security and preventing the entry of illegal substances.
The seizure of large quantities of narcotics and the elimination of smugglers demonstrate the JAF’s commitment to upholding Jordan’s national security. With the formation of the joint “communication cell” and ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking, Jordan is taking proactive measures to tackle this issue and ensure the safety of its citizens.
