MoS Jitendra Singh calls for integration of 'allopathy with Ayush'

New Delhi, Feb 23 (IANS) – Union Minister of State Science & Technology Jitendra Singh emphasized the importance of integrating traditional and modern tools of patient care in the rapidly evolving field of clinical medicine. Speaking at the “International Patient Safety Conference 2024” in Bengaluru, Singh stressed the need for collaboration between public and private sectors as well as different medical practices for achieving optimal health outcomes.

Singh highlighted India’s success stories during the pandemic, such as the vaccine development, as examples of the benefits of integrated approaches in healthcare. He underscored the significance of combining allopathy with Ayush systems like ayurveda, homoeopathy, unani, yoga, and naturopathy for managing various diseases and disorders effectively.

The Minister pointed out that even the West looked to India for immunity-building techniques from alternative medicine systems during the Covid-19 crisis. He emphasized that post-pandemic, integrating different streams of medical management is crucial for successful treatment of illnesses that may not respond well to a singular approach or isolated treatments.

Singh’s remarks at the conference shed light on the necessity of synergy and cooperation among diverse medical practices to enhance patient care and health outcomes. He called for a harmonized approach to healthcare that combines traditional wisdom with modern advancements for comprehensive and effective treatment strategies.
