A video which has outraged netizens after it went viral was the one that featured veteran actor Nana Patekar slapping a fan who wanted to take a selfie with the actor. The actor was in Varanasi shooting for his next film, ‘Journey’ when the incident happened.
After the video surfaced on the internet, the star was mercilessly trolled for his act. Now, the actor has reacted to the incident.

Bollywood rules the minds of Indians and fans often revere and adore their stars. Often fans intrude the private space of an actor. While most actors and actresses get along with their fans, some often react angrily and it appears in the viral video that Nana Patekar is not an actor who wants any intrusion into his private space.
Nana Patekar releases apology video, clarifies the real situation
When the video became viral Director Anil Sharma had earlier refuted the report and said that the video was a part of the official project scene. However, the veteran star now himself has reacted to the viral clarigying his stance.
Nana Patekar has cleared the air surrounding the viral video and clarified that this sequence was a part of the film and the rehearsal was on when the boy entered. It was the second rehearsal and the boy appeared. Nana said that he thought the boy was a part of the crew so as per the scene he slapped the boy.
Later he came to know that the boy was an outsider and wanted to have a selfie with the actor. When the truth dawned upon Nana he called the boy to come back but the boy ran away in fright. Nana Patekar added this was a mistake and he always respect his fans and would never do anything like this again.
The incident happened at Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi where he is shooting for his next film, ‘Journey’.
