Rashtrapati Bhavan hosts 'Purple Fest'
New Delhi, February 27 (IANS) – Rashtrapati Bhavan hosted a ‘Purple Fest’ on Monday, showcasing cultural performances for persons with disabilities. President Droupadi Murmu attended the event and interacted with participants, as reported by the President’s Secretariat.
The fest included activities like ‘Know your disabilities’, ‘Purple Cafe’, ‘Purple Kaleidoscope’, ‘Purple Live Experience Zone’, ‘Purple Sports’. More than 14,000 people participated in the event, organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.
The event aimed to raise awareness about different disabilities and promote understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of persons with disabilities within society. President Murmu witnessed the cultural performances and highlighted the importance of empathy and support for individuals with disabilities.
The ‘Purple Fest’ was an initiative to celebrate the abilities and talents of persons with disabilities, showcasing their skills and contributions to society. The event was a step towards creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for individuals with disabilities in India.
