Twist in CCTV Footage
In a CCTV footage released on Wednesday by police, a woman could be spotted jogging past a property in Ballarat. The woman is believed to be Murphy.
The woman in the CCTV footage ran “in the opposite direction to Canadian State Forest where Murphy had planned to run.” This raised a theory that maybe cops have been searching Murphy in the wrong direction.
However, another CCTV footage from Thursday confirmed that the woman was not Murphy, but rather someone else. In the wake of this, a local person offered help to the investigators.
In the high-profile case, the police had to declare all the evidence as irrelevant for the second time in 24 hours.
It is believed that Samantha was wearing an Apple Watch and carrying her phone when she disappeared. Police are analyzing her phone, which reportedly pinged in the nearby suburb of Buninyong.
