As per news reports and websites, back on October 27th 2018, a helicopter crashed near King Power Stadium. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, Thai chairman as well as his two staff members lost their lives. According to police reports, the victims were lost their lives in the crash are- Eric Swaffer, Izabela Roza Lechowicz, Nusara Sukanmai and Kaveporn Punpare. Since the crash, not many details were revealed to the public making it look like a foul play. 5 people tragically lost their life.
While acknowledging the crash, AAIB stated that the helicopter crashed due to multiple mechanical failures. The pilot of the helicopter could have saved the people on board from the crash but while making a sharp turn it crashed. The helicopter that crashed was a Leonardo AW169.
Chief Inspector of Air Accidents at the AAIB, Crispin Orr stated in a released statement- that 4 passengers could be saved but once it was crashed the fuel tank leaked leading to a massive blast.
