TDP slams Jagan after cricketer Hanuma Vihari vowed not to play for Andhra

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) criticized Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy over cricketer Hanuma Vihari’s decision to not play for Andhra Pradesh again. Vihari was allegedly forced to resign as captain after a dispute with a teammate, leading to his humiliation and decision. Vihari accused the Andhra Cricket Association of prioritizing politics over talent, resulting in his resignation from the team.

TDP leader Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram accused Jagan Mohan Reddy of suppressing talented players like Vihari and manipulating the cricket association. He alleged that officials close to Jagan Reddy hold key positions in the association, including individuals with criminal backgrounds. The TDP criticized the YSRCP’s interference in the Andhra Cricket Association, leading to the loss of promising cricket talent in the state.

Hanuma Vihari expressed his frustration on Instagram, detailing the events leading to his decision to not play for Andhra anymore. Despite his contributions to the team and the game, Vihari felt disrespected and humiliated by the association’s actions. He highlighted the association’s disregard for player’s feelings and the lack of support for growth and development within the team. Vihari’s announcement sheds light on the challenges faced by athletes in navigating politics within sports organizations.
