Teenager arrested in Sydney church stabbing amidst tension and violence in the area

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested for stabbing a bishop and several worshippers at a church in Sydney’s Wakeley suburb. Fortunately, no injuries were life-threatening. This incident follows a recent stabbing spree at a Sydney shopping mall where six people were killed.

The attack at Christ The Good Shepherd Church led to clashes between police and hundreds of people outside the church. Two police officers were injured during the violence as onlookers demanded the attacker to be brought outside. Vehicles were damaged as stones, bricks, and bottles were thrown.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Andrew Holland stated that the suspect was a 15-year-old who was being treated for wounds to his hand. The police have deployed in the area and urged the public to stay away from the scene to maintain safety and security. The suspect has been taken to a secure location for further investigation.

This disturbing incident adds to the recent violence in Sydney and highlights the need for increased security measures to ensure the safety of residents. Police are actively investigating the motive behind the attack and are working to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future.
