Hospitals Covid-ready with oxygen beds & medicines in Noida and Ghaziabad

Recently the health authority conducted a Covid drill in many private as well as government hospitals in Ghaziabad and Noida. In the drill, a team of officers including CHC staffers, a nodal officer and hospital staff inspected all the Covid treatment facilities such as beds, medicines, oxygen plants and oxygen concentrators in Ghaziabad and Noida.

In Noida, the first drill was conducted in Sector 39’s District Combined Hospital, GIMS, Sharda Hospital, four primary healthcare centres at Bhangel, Dadri, Jewar and Bisrakh and Child PGI Noida CMO Dr Sunil Sharma stated, “Dr SK Nanda, director (nursing) in the state, monitored the facility in Sector 39 and the overall drill. After reviewing the Covid preparedness, he has expressed satisfaction. Our teams found sufficient beds at Sector 39 DCH-earlier Noida Covid Hospital, Sharda Hospital, and CHCs across the district. They also found oxygen plants functional and medicine stock adequate at all facilities.” Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, the drill was conducted in ESI Hospital, four CHCs in Loni, Modi Nagar, Dasna and Muradnagar and Santosh Medical College.

Officials further added that most of the hospitals are ready to handle covid situation if any need arises in future. Yesterday, the city saw 70 new cases. Currently, 318 are active cases out of which 12 are being treated in hospitals. Ghaziabad reported 62 new cases. 209 are active while 14 are being treated in the hospital.  “Patients undergoing treatment at different hospitals either have comorbid conditions or are aged. They all have mild symptoms,” said Dr Amit Kumar, the district surveillance officer of Noida. “We have started random sampling at public places, like bus stations. According to the state government guidelines, symptomatic patients at all hospitals are now getting tested,” Kumar further stated.
