Gurugram: Two Iranian nationals held for illegal stay

Gurugram: A joint team of the Chief Minister’s Flying Squad and Crime Branch of Gurugram Police arrested two Iranian nationals for illegal stay without visa and passport. They had fake documents and transacted money via Hawala. The duo, identified as Puriya Siraj and Mohammad Mughani, were studying in Gurugram without a valid passport.

The Chief Minister’s Flying Squad received a tip-off about the illegal stay of the Iranian nationals in the Sector 49 area of Gurugram. A raiding team reached the location and apprehended the two individuals. They had been living without legal documents for a year, and were found with fake Aadhaar cards, PAN cards, and other IDs.

According to Inspector Harish from the CM Flying Wing, the Iranians had been using fake documents to conceal their identities. They also disclosed that they had been receiving money through Hawala transactions. Police seized mobile phones, cash, jewelry, and watches from their possession.

The Iranian nationals had falsely claimed to be residents of Delhi, using fake identity documents for various purposes. A case under the Foreigners Act, Money Laundering Act, and IPC was registered against them at the Sector-50 Police Station. Authorities are investigating the matter further to uncover any additional illegal activities.
