IIT-Kanpur's Class of 1974 pledges Rs 10.11 crore for their alma mater

The Class of 1974 from IIT-Kanpur has pledged Rs 10.11 crore for supporting various activities at the institute. The Golden Jubilee Reunion of the batch held from February 23-25 witnessed over 80 alumni in attendance, showcasing their enduring dedication to the institute.

Expressing gratitude, Prof. S. Ganesh, Director of IIT-Kanpur, highlighted the alumni’s commitment to supporting research endeavours and initiatives benefiting students. The generous pledge will be utilized to enhance infrastructure, R&D facilities, and academic activities, under the name ‘The Class of 1974 Batch Legacy Fund’.

Prof. Kantesh Balani, Dean of Resources & Alumni at IIT-Kanpur, commended the Class of 1974 for setting a new benchmark in supporting their alma mater. The pledge reflects a collective vision for promoting excellence at the institute and enriching opportunities for students and faculty. The three-day celebratory event allowed alumni to reminisce, reconnect, and reaffirm their commitment to IIT-Kanpur’s pursuit of excellence.
