Amit Malviya: Bengal Unsafe under Mamata, Shahjahan’s Arrest Delayed 55 Days

New Delhi, Feb 29 (IANS) The BJP criticized the Bengal government for the delayed arrest of Sheikh Shahjahan, calling into question the safety of the state under Mamata Banerjee’s leadership.

Amit Malviya, a BJP official, highlighted the delayed arrest of Shahjahan Sheikh, a TMC leader accused of various crimes, showing Mamata Banerjee’s reluctance until pressure forced action.

The arrest of Shahjahan Sheikh, after more than 50 days of hiding, just before the PM’s visit and following a High Court order, raises concerns about Mamata Banerjee’s political tactics.

The BJP claims that Shahjahan Sheikh is not the only criminal within the TMC and cites others who allegedly terrorize with impunity due to their support of Mamata Banerjee, calling for her removal from power for the safety of women in Bengal.
