Ambedkar Nagar police arrested Mohammed Ashraf, 50, for allegedly raping a woman from Mumbai seeking spiritual healing. The survivor was held hostage at a guest house, prompting her family to intervene. The accused fled but was later apprehended after an FIR was filed.
The incident took place in a guest house in Kichhauchha under Baskhari jurisdiction. The survivor’s family sought spiritual assistance from Ashraf, who promised healing rituals. Instead, he locked them out of the room and assaulted the woman.
Baskhari Station House Officer, Rajesh Kumar Singh, stated that the family found the victim in a distressed state after breaking down the locked door. Ashraf was taken into custody following the complaint. The accused’s deceitful actions have led to his arrest and further investigation.
