Arunachal CM Khandu and 4 other BJP candidates expected to be elected uncontested, according to party sources.

In Arunachal Pradesh, five BJP assembly candidates, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, are expected to win unopposed. The state BJP congratulated Khandu for being elected from Mukto constituency, as Congress nominees withdrew their candidatures, paving the way for uncontested wins.

Other candidates likely to win unopposed are Jikke Tako from Tali, Nyato Dukom from Taliha, Ratu Techi from Sagalee, and Mutchu Mithi from Roing. Former CM Nabam Tuki will contest parliamentary elections from Arunachal West against BJP’s Kiren Rijiju.

The BJP is contesting all 60 Assembly seats in Arunachal, alongside the Lok Sabha seats on April 19. In 2019, BJP won 41 Assembly seats, later joined by seven MLAs from other parties. Counting of votes for Assembly polls will be on June 2, and Lok Sabha results on June 4.
