Former Prime Minister H.D. Deve Gowda vowed to bring down the “arrogance” of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah during a public rally in Mosalehalli village, Hassan. Deve Gowda criticized the Chief Minister for spending resources on elections and challenged him to a face-off on April 4 in Hassan.
Deve Gowda stated, “Siddaramaiah has tweeted, asking about the presence of JD-S in the state. All of you who have gathered here belong to which political party? I will bring down this arrogance. I may be aged but my mind still works. I will bow down to no one. I will expose him layer-by-layer.”
The former Chief Minister also addressed criticism towards H.D. Kumaraswamy’s quick return to the election after heart surgery, asserting that the JD-S will not be finished off. Deve Gowda accused the Congress of controlling resources in Bengaluru and manipulating the state’s political landscape.
Deve Gowda expressed that complete control of Bengaluru is currently held by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, with the presence of Congress limited to Karnataka and Telangana. He further stated that the Congress does not have a stronghold in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh.
On April 4, Deve Gowda plans to address Siddaramaiah directly at a public rally in Hassan, challenging the Chief Minister’s leadership. Deve Gowda’s remarks point towards an escalating political showdown in the lead-up to the Lok Sabha elections, highlighting tensions between various political parties in Karnataka.
