BJP announces candidates for the last two LS seats in Telangana
The BJP announced its candidates for the last two Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, with Aroori Ramesh and Tandra Vinod Rao chosen for Warangal (SC) and Khammam respectively. Ramesh and Vinod recently joined the BJP, with Ramesh unhappy after the BRS announced Kavya as its candidate in Warangal.
Former BRS MLA Aroori Ramesh joined the BJP a week ago, expressing dissatisfaction with Kavya being chosen as the BRS candidate in Warangal. Industrialist Tandra Vinod, who joined the BJP last month, has been selected as the party’s candidate for Khammam. The majority of BJP candidates in Telangana are defectors from the BRS.
The BJP had won four Lok Sabha seats in 2019, with most sitting MPs retained in the party’s candidate list. Elections for all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana are set to take place on May 13. Aroori Ramesh will be contesting from Warangal (SC) while Tandra Vinod Rao will be the candidate for Khammam, as announced by the BJP for the upcoming elections in the state.
