Player of the Match named as Kolkata Thunderbolts triumph over Hyderabad Black Hawks in a dominant win during the third season of the Prime Volleyball League (PVL) at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai. The Thunderbolts sealed the victory with a score of 15-8, 15-8, 11-15, 20-18.

Stefan Kovacevic shone for Hyderabad early on, but Vinit Kumar’s aggressive serves disrupted the Hawks’ defence. Onur Cukur’s precise passing set up attackers for Kolkata, with Ashwal Rai adding to the team’s strength. Hemanth and Stefan fought back for Hyderabad, showcasing their resistance.

Despite missing Ivan Jose, Hyderabad struggled with Sahil Kumar starting for the first time. David Kisiel’s contributions in both attack and defence allowed Kolkata to take control of the match, dominating the court.

As the Hawks found moments of resurgence, Ashamat Ullah and Sahil began to click with their attacks. Prince’s solid blocks added to the challenge, but Ashwal’s clever tactics and Stefan’s defensive plays kept Hyderabad in the game, creating an intense atmosphere.

The intensity on the court grew as Hyderabad fought back, with Amit’s contributions and Ashwal’s relentless play from the middle keeping Kolkata ahead. Despite Prince’s strong blocks posing a challenge, Hyderabad’s unforced errors proved costly as the Thunderbolts secured a solid win to close out the match.
