Mayank Yadav’s Pace Rattles RCB as LSG Triumph by 28 Runs in IPL 2024

Lucknow Super Giants emerged victorious against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a thrilling encounter in Match 15 of the Indian Premier League 2024. Mayank Yadav’s sensational pace bowling, clocking the fastest delivery of the season at 156.7 kph, led his team to a 28-run win at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Tuesday.

The 21-year-old Yadav, who had also impressed in his debut match, took 3-14, including the wickets of Glenn Maxwell, Cameron Green, and Rajat Patidar. His exceptional performance, coupled with Naveen-Ul-Haq’s 2-25, helped Lucknow Super Giants bowl out RCB for 153 and secure their second win of the season.

Yadav, a product of Sonnet Club of Delhi, showcased his skills by breaching the 150kmph mark multiple times in both matches. His fiery spell of bowling not only dismantled RCB’s batting order but also highlighted his potential as a promising talent in the IPL.

Opener Quinton de Kock’s aggressive 81 and Nicholas Pooran’s quickfire 40 in the final overs laid a strong foundation for Lucknow Super Giants’ total of 181/5. Despite a brief resistance from RCB’s middle order, the target proved too much as LSG’s bowlers dominated the proceedings.

While Yadav’s pace bowling stole the show, LSG’s fielding display was equally impressive. Devdutt Padikkal’s sharp catches and Nicholas Pooran’s acrobatics added to the team’s overall performance, showcasing a well-rounded effort in both departments.

With this victory, Lucknow Super Giants have climbed to fourth in the standings, tied with Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings, and Gujarat Titans at four points each. However, Rajasthan Royals lead the table with six points from three matches, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead in the IPL 2024.
